Psychotherapy & Consultation
Psychotherapy starts with a safe place to explore, discover, begin change. I work with a range of concerns—relationships, depression, anxiety, sexuality, creativity, parenting, and that essential question: What do I really want?
I’ve been in practice 30 years with extensive training in psychodynamic therapy & psychoanalytic theory.
The work is collaborative, engaged, interactive.
My practice includes individuals and couples in both long and short-term therapy.
~ My practice is racially diverse and I work with both LGBT and straight couples. Cultural issues affect a person’s life as profoundly as other experiences: therapy needs to be attentive to all.
~ A writer as well as a therapist, I’m interested in the creative process and work with various types of artists. Creative freedom tends to emerge with personal change.
~ I occasionally teach in graduate psychotherapy programs and have published two books on psychoanalytic theory with a cultural perspective.
